Riverbend Engineering is a consulting civil engineering firm specializing in water resources projects and river restoration engineering. Since 1999 we have worked on more than 150 rivers, arroyos, wetlands, and irrigation systems throughout northern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado. We can take river restoration projects from a feasibility level assessment all the way through permitting and construction. Riverbend’s staff includes licensed engineers, licensed contractors, certified floodplain managers, and experienced aquatic biologists. Responsible river engineering in the 21st century requires knowledge of water law, floodplain regulations, fluvial geomorphology, Natural Channel Design techniques, water quality criteria, aquatic biology, riparian plant communities, as well as the “Nuts and Bolts” of hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and sediment transport. We synthesize all of these technical disciplines to provide our clients with ecologically responsible designs that function sustainably within the current regulatory framework.
